- Four Daughters (1938) [Mickey Borden]: Fatally injured in an off-screen car accident; he dies in the hospital shortly afterwards, while talking to Priscilla Lane.
- The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946) [Frank Chambers]: Presumably executed (off-screen) shortly after the movie ends; the movie ends with him in his cell awaiting execution after telling his story. (Thanks to Tracey)
- We Were Strangers (1949) [Tony Fenner]: Fatally wounded in a shoot-out with the Cuban police; he dies shortly afterwards with Jennifer Jones by his side.
- He Ran All the way (1951) [Nick Robey]: Shot in the stomach by Shelley Winters; he dies shortly after he crawls outside to the curb just as his new car arrives.
