  • Judith of Bethulia (1914) [Holofernes]: Decapitated with a sword (off-screen) by Blanche Sweet.
  • Ghosts (The Curse) (1915) [Captain Arling/Oswald]: Playing a dual role as both father and son, "Captain Arling" dies of syphilis, and the son "Oswald" commits suicide by taking poison.
  • The Truant Soul (1916) [Dr. John Lancaster/Dr. Lawson]: Playing a dual role as half-brothers, "Dr. Lawson" is burned to death after setting fire to the asylum. ("Dr Lancaster" survives the movie)
  • Viva Villa! (1934) [Francisco Madero]: Shot in the head by Joseph Schildkraut while sitting at his desk.
  • China Clipper (1936) [Dad Brunn]: Dies of a heart attack from overwork.

Short Film Deaths[]

  • The House with Closed Shutters (1910) [The Confederate Soldier]: Dies of a heart attack while sitting in his house, with his mother (Grace Henderson) by his side. (At this point of the film, he was made to look much older than he acutally was at the time). (This short film is included in the bonus features in the Kino Video 2-disc edition of The Birth of a Nation.)
