  • The Law of Compensation (1917) [Flora Graham/Ruth Graham]: Playing a dual role as mother and daughter, the mother “Flora” dies shortly after childbirth, with Fred Esmelton by her side. (The daughter “Ruth” survives the movie).
  • The Forbidden City (Tale of the Forbidden City) (1918) [San San/Toy]: Again, playing a dual role as mother and daughter, the mother “San San” is stabbed with spears by several servants (on the orders of L. Rogers Lytton) as she attempts to leave the palace. (The daughter “Toy” survives the movie).
  • The Ghosts of Yesterday (1918) [Ruth Grahame/Jeanne LaFleur]: Playing a dual role, “Ruth” dies of an unspecified illness. (“Jeanne” survives the movie).
  • Yes or No (1920) [Margaret Vane/Minnie Berry]: Playing a dual role, Margaret commits suicide (though I don’t know the method). (“Minnie” survives the movie).
